Vahan Yeghiazaryan in the April 24 participated in events commemorated to the Armenian genocide’s centennial in Istanbul, Turkey


  
The president of  “Zargatsum” Social Movement, Vahan Yeghiazaryan in the April 24 of 2015 was in Istanbul among the European Antiracist Movement’s delegation and participated in events commemorated to the Armenian genocide’s centennial.
The commemorations in Istanbul are more important than the same in Yerevan, because the Genocide take place in Istanbul and but the official recognition of the third countries in the entire process of recognition is not so important than the recognition by Turkey. Moreover, only the recognition of Turkey with following maximal compensation could became the start point of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey.
In the connection with this, The commemorating events in Istanbul have existing scale and are the most potential. The process of recognition in Turkey is accelerating and needs the strong support, the Support not only from the side of Europeans organization or organization of Armenian Diaspora, but also in the support of the organization from Armenia.
“Zargatsum” Social Movement in the person of it’s president Vahan Yeghiazaryan became the only Armenian organization from the Republic of Armenia, which participated in the commemorating events on Istanbul – “The heart of Turkey”.
The president of  “Zargatsum” social movement, Vahan Yeghiazaryan participated in the following events:

  2. Gathering in front of the prison of April 24 prisoners at Sultanahmet square
  3. “Walk to Remember” from Sultanahmet square to Eminonü
  4. Public commemoration in front of Haydarphasha train station
  5. Sevag Balikchi public commemoration at the Armenian Shishli cemetery
  6. Whishing Tree event in Taksim Square
  7. Central public commemoration meeting in Taksim Square
  8. Reception at the French Consulate in Istanbul
